Jan 29 Running Man Episode 674 Review

My Entertainment Score: 9 out of 10 laughs

The highlight of the episode was Linked Foot Volleyball, but overall it was a good time this week. I would have liked a name-tag game, but it wouldn’t have fit as well into the overall theme of the show as what the staff came up with.

What Happened:

Theme: “You” are my Captain

Opening/Guest Introductions (start of episode- 8:00)

The three actors are promoting a drama called “The Perfect Deal”.

Race Explanation (8:00- 9:40)

Jaesuk and Seungho are the team leaders for the day. (Yu and Yoo, hence the “You” are my captain theme). The captains will share money with the rest of the team in loyalty games. At the end of the day, the three members with the most money on the winning team will get a prize. On the other hand, the three members with the least money on the losing team will face punishment.

Money will be earned through ‘Deal or No Deal’ type game. There are only 8 cases and only 2 rounds of deals made, but the premise is the same. Keep the original chosen case or take the offer of the ‘masked man’ who will make an offer.

The teams are:

Jaesuk: Jongkook, Somin, Soobin, Donghwi

Seungho: Seokjin, Haha, Jihyo, Haha

First Deal Time (9:40- 19:50)

The amounts were from $0 to $100.

First Mission: Well Drawn Deal (19:50- 56:22)

In a relay, members of a team will draw either a person or a song title, with the final member of the team guessing the answer. The first person to draw must be the captains of the team…who are both known for not drawing well. The winning team will make deals using bags that have higher amounts (up to $100 instead of up to $60).

Deal Time - 44:55.

Second Mission: Linked Foot Volleyball (56:22- 1:19:10)

Note: before the game begins, Team Seungho divides money that was earned playing an unshown game on the bus that traveled to the mission location.

Two men and one woman on each team are linked by elastics on a belt. The other two men on each team are similarly linked. The game was played to 15 points.

Seungho and Soobin were adorable here.

Deal Time - 1:08:45.

Final Mission: The Winning Deal (1:19:10- 1:30:10)

One member from each team will play. Teams will take turns sending a member out. That member chooses his opponent. Both will reveal how much money they have accumulated and the member with the most money will win a point for the team. The first team to 3 points wins.

Final Results (1:30:10- end of episode)

The winners get a pine mushroom set. The three lowest earners on the losing team face a bucket of water. One bucket is full, one is half full and one is empty. At the same time, the buckets will be poured over the member’s heads.

Preview: Yoon Jonghoon (actor), Um Kijoon (actor), and Lee Joon (actor and singer, formerly of MBLAQ) join the members for “The Escape of the Ten”. It looks like all there will be a bonanza of escape room-type games. I’m quite excited for this!
