Did you read our first top 50 article? Well, that was from a girl group fan, and our resident variety writer, Chelsea, saw need for a different perspective. So, let’s see what a boy group fan likes, and check through both articles to see what overlaps, if something is on both, it’s probably just that good.
As with every January 1st, it’s time to take a step back and review last year’s top songs as a whole. It was a good year, and some groups really stepped up from their previous output which really impressed me. So, who came out on top?

So, we’re starting this year’s awards off really weirdly with our anything but 2022 kpop. For this category we nominated only songs that did not qualify in any of the main categories, so it gets a little quirky.
In a battle of sibling rivalry, Chelsea saw my original top 50 list and found it lacking, so we’re back now with hers! See which one you think is better, and look to see some of where our overlap and differences lie, it’s fun to compare and contrast tastes, and to accept everybody’s unique perspectives.
I’m so proud to present my top 50 songs of the year, this is something I always look forward to putting together every single year, and this year is no different. Well, one major difference is the top of the list felt very close compared to some previous years, but that’s only because everything was so amazing this year in terms of kpop music.
It’s time for the girl groups! Girl group of the year was here, it was an extremely competitive year for girl groups, with good release after good release, and a few months just stuffed full of amazing music. So, who one out across all these comebacks and amazing releases, we had one that managed to rise above the rest.

Part 2 of the double header, Celina’s songs for the pandemic. This one may be a little sadder, but let’s all look together towards brighter horizons in 2021!

Album of the Year! This is actually our smallest category outside of ASMRtist of the year, so in such a strict landscape, what comes out on top?
The end of our solo act awards, solo song of the year, we’ve had a massive amount of contenders with so many gen 3 groups only just getting their soloists forward to duke it out with the gen 2 idols, will the young guns take it, or is this category still in the hands of the vets?
We’re taking a break in the Manelies to do an all time list of our personal favorite Christmas songs, no winners, no losers, just some Christmas cheer. Merry Christmas everybody!
The second in our trilogy of solo-act related content, this time we look at the best female soloists this year. This list, luckily, was a little cleaner cut than the last one.
