Running Man Episode 667 pt 2 - 669 pt 1 Review
Guests: none
My Entertainment Score: 4 out of 10 laughs
I’m giving this trip a slightly higher score because there were more games. However the majority of two entire episodes worth of footage is in the rest periods and cooking/eating meals, which I’ve already said isn’t why I watch this show. It’s genuinely strange to me that most of the footage for a show called Running Man was taken from the rest periods. I’m hopeful for the next race, though! Check out the preview section for more info.
What Happened:
Theme: Fishing Village Summer Vacation Special Trip
Opening (28:30 of episode 667- 32:40)
Race Explanation (32:40- 35:35)
This trip is visiting a fishing village. Rather than the huge cash prize that the last trip offered, this trip is a competition to avoid a 5am fishing trip. Two members will have that fate. To avoid the octopus fishing trip, the members need to collect “Vacation Coins”. Each member begins with 5 coins.
Lunch (35:35- 1:19:40)
Members first do some sea diving to collect the sea urchins that they will use to make lunch. The two members with the largest sea urchin get a vacation coin.
Fish Trap Setting - 48:00. The members set fish traps that will be checked in the evening. Vacation coins will be awarded for each fish that is caught.
Cooking and Lunch - 51:10.
Rest - 1:11:25.
Coin Mission: Stop In Your Tracks (1:19:40- end of episode 667)
A GAME! YAY! For this game, members had to freeze when the lights were on, so the game was played in the dark. One tray was placed out. One member had to grab the tray and attempt to (lightly) bonk the other members on the head to get them out. Members without the tray could avoid the attacker or attempt to steal the tray. Coins are awarded based on the order of elimination. The game was played in a small-ish room, so there were multiple rounds with only some of the members playing in each.
Coin Mission: Kim Jongkook Game (start of episode 668- 6:00)
This was essentially a variation on tag and a popular social media game. Jongkook was blindfolded and had to ‘tag’ the other members with a soft stick to get coins. The other members wore rubber chicken squeakers on their feet and attempted to avoid getting hit. The members that were tagged the least would get coins and any member that made over 90 decibels of sound while moving around would also get coins according to how loud the sound was. Two rounds were played as the room was relatively small. The first round was Seokjin, Somin and Sechan.
Dinner (6:00- end of episode 168)
Members split up with half the members (Seokjin, Jaesuk, and Haha) going to get ingredients. The rest of the members go check the fish traps that were set up earlier. There was rest time also included in this.
Cooking - 48:25.
Dinner - 1:23:00.
Coin Game: Ping Pong (start of episode 669- 17:19)
This game is revealed at the end of episode 668 almost as a preview, but nothing is played, so I’m putting it here. As a twist, the racquets are specially made summer racquets…in other words, they are made of solid ice. I would not survive this game…so cold! One glove can be bought for 2 coins by individual players. The winning team will get 15 coins.
Teams: Seokjin, Jaesuk, Jongkook, Jihyo VS Haha, Somin, Sechan.
Final Results (17:19- 1:02:15)
The final count of the coins is revealed. Every 7 coins is converted to one Running Ball and a random draw is conducted. The two members whose names are drawn last get to go octopus fishing!
Fishing - 28:45. The rest of the members sleep in for a while and then begin getting the breakfast work going.
Breakfast - 59:50.
Preview: Running Detective Agency is open for business with special guest, actor Kang Hoon. A murder mystery is afoot with three potential suspects. Can they find the culprit?
