*2 Days, 1 Night is a show where 5 regular cast members take themed trips around Korea to show off its charms. Each trip has a theme designed to highlight an area or else to create cohesion for the games they play. The general formula for a trip is a lunch game, a dinner game, and a sleeping inside or outside game. Half of the members (in teams or as individuals) will win lunch. The same will be true of dinner and the right to sleep inside instead of in a tent. Trips often cover several episodes.*

My Entertainment Score: overall 8 out 10 laughs

Episode 145 was a 7 for me. I enjoyed the confusion and the treasure hunt aspect of this episode.

Episode 146 was a 9 for me. The games were simple and entertaining and the members once again showed their kindness. Happiness.

Episode 147 pt. 1 was an 8 for me. One announcement made me gasp out loud…which my dog did not appreciate, but overall it was just fun.

What Happened:

Opening (start of ep 145- 6:00)

The members gather at Seoul Train Station at 4 am. They’re told they will take the first train out to go to PLACE. After some banter, they all board the train.

Lunch…Mission….Quest…Thing (6:00- 6:48 of episode 146)

The members chat and sing songs around the games and twists. The songs are hilarious. They change the lyrics around.

Snack Game -9:45. Silent Word Chain. The members had to act out a word to the next person in line. The next person in line must act out a word that begins with the same letter as the previous word ended with.

After a winner is chosen and the food is brought out, they realize it's quite a bit. The winner gives some more silent clues to the other members so that they can have a chance to try some of it.

Abandonment Twist - 25:30. The staff secretly get off at an earlier stop than planned while most of the members are sleeping. The members are given a mission by the security staff that was left with them. They have to find the car in the parking lot and then arrive at their base camp by a certain time in order to avoid a punishment.

Hunt for Base Camp - 35:00. The members get hints that lead them all around the area, beginning with a card in the car that leads them to a restaurant.

41:15- The guys eat a meal at the restaurant. The bottoms of the bowls (under the food) have letters that spell out the next location, not that they know that.

50:00- The members get a clue from an attendant at the docks telling them to ride a boat and find the ‘special, shiny thing’ under the second bridge. From there, they make landfall and find the place related to the ‘shiny thing’.

**This led me to look up the story of Nongae, a woman from the Japanese Invasion of Korea who sacrificed herself to kill an enemy general.**

1:05:00- The members have to get two parts of a hint. The first is by calling Junghoon’s dad (a famous actor in his own right. The second part is obtained by making a video of them completing a physical activity correctly. THIS was my absolute favorite part of this whole hunt. They had to lie on their sides, in a circle, hand to foot. They would pull in their legs and arms to make the circle shrink and then push out to make it large again. They had to do that 10 times in 1 minute in order to get the other hint.

1:14:15- Race to basecamp! —They find out it’s not ACTUALLY basecamp, but it is a famous destination. They get lunch at the actual basecamp which is a short walk away.

Lunch - start of episode 146.

Dinner Games: Night Market (6:48 of episode 146- 45:45)

The night market they were at gives out stamp cards (Eat a certain number of things and you get a bonus). They had to get 4 stamps for the next game.

Allowance Game - 12:02. Grab, pull, or put. Members had to choose one before hearing the rules of the game.

Dindin and Inwoo choose the grab. The grab game was to pick up money with chopsticks and place it on a plate….twist. They had to do it blindfolded and only had 30 seconds.

Junghoon chose the put game. He had to bend down and press his forehead to the money to make it stick. Then he had to shake it off onto a plate. The sounds of this one made me giggle.

Jongmin and Seyoon chose the pull game. The pull game was to pull a VERY full glass of water across the table…twist. It was on a toilet paper roll, so a small shake/drip will make it tear. The further they pulled in 30 seconds, the more money they earned.

Night Market Shopping/Dinner- 25:25.

Sleeping Game: Lottery (45:45- 1:05:50)

The members are each allowed to pick 5 numbers. A lottery machine was brought out and used. When all the numbers of a member came up, he had to use a confetti thing. Their sleeping place was determined by their order of finishing.

1st place- hotel suite with unlimited room service.

2nd place- big room at base camp.

3rd place- small room alone.

4th place- a sleeping bag on the porch.

5th place- a cardboard box ‘tent’ in the yard.

Breakfast Mission (1:05:50 of episode 146- 7:20 of episode 147)

The members had to do 5 tasks in a row successfully. If they failed a mission, they had to start over from number 1. The fastest three to complete all the missions wins.

Teeth clacking ‘meditation’. -10 times
Ice bath - up to the neck for 10 seconds
Salt water-regular water luck choice.
Tongue Twister Paragraph.
Call a ‘successful’ person to get a word of advice and blessing.
Hold a note for 30 seconds.

Breakfast - 4:30 of episode 147.

Getting Off Work Mission: Lottery hehe. (4:30 of episode 147- 19:50)

The members do another lottery to decide who gets to go home. Only the winner gets to go home. The rest are supposed to stay until sunset!!

Fortunately the crew had a solution for the members left behind. They are by “Wishing Stairs”. If they go down and climb up the 365 stairs, they can have a wish granted (to go home). They make a deal with the staff to do another lottery and only 2 people will make the climb on the stairs, but they will do it twice.

Preview: An Autumn Leaves Trip. The members are off to a hiking trail to see the beautiful colors of the changing leaves of autumn.
