Running Man Episode 656 Review

There were only two games, but they both made me laugh. No name tag ripping this week.
What Happened:
Theme: You Are My ‘Bong’ Race
Opening/Team Formation Game (start of episode- 18:26)
Sechan and Donghyun do a quiz. Whichever of the two gets the most questions correct will get benefits for the next game. The rest of the members watch ONLY their faces, without sound through a TV screen then choose the member they believe got the most questions correct. If more than 4 members end up on one team, the captain (either Sechan or Donghyun) gets to choose who to give up to the other team.

Race Explanation (18:26- 21:30)
After each game, the loyalty of the team members are tested. The winning team is able to split 12 golden eggs while the losing team has to split 12 dark eggs. Golden eggs are worth +1 and dark eggs are worth -1. The person with the most points at the end of the day gets a prize. The person with the least points, and a member chosen by the loser, will receive a punishment.
To distribute the eggs, members will secretly go and take whatever amount they want, so presumably it is advantageous to go first. However, for the team that chooses golden eggs, the member that gets the least eggs will be allowed to name the person that they believe took the most. If correct, the eggs are switched between those two members. It’s the opposite for the dark eggs. The member that ended up with the most dark eggs tries to guess who took the least. *Note: to determine order, rock-paper-scissors was generally the preferred method.*

First Mission: Grab the Pull Up Bar (33:29- 45:23)
That name is from the show and doesn’t even begin to explain the game that was played.
The game is charades. One member of a team is the guesser. Two others act out two parts of a phrase (for example: one will act out hair and the other will act out washing to get washing your hair). Each team will get 3 minutes to play. And the team with the highest number of correct guesses wins.
However, the opposing team can ALSO guess to steal points. The opposing team cannot stand in the play area. They must go behind walls and use exercise equipment (pull up bars, a trampoline, a pole) to get up high enough to see the team that is playing charades.

Second Mission: Changing Terrain Foot Volleyball (1:00:33- 1:20:15)
They called this “Gain Eggs and Mark the Territory”....that name didn’t cut it for me either.
Interlocking exercise mats marked the ‘court’ for a game of foot volleyball. The game was played 3 v 3 up to 25 points. Each time a point was earned, the scoring team could add 2 squares or remove 2 squares to change the court. Eggs could also be used to change the court. One golden egg could be used to purchase 2 mats or 1 dark egg could be taken to add or remove 1 mat.
*Note 1: This game was for 20 eggs, both dark and golden.*
**Note 2: Because of all the purchases in this game, I will not keep a running total of the eggs each member has in the spoilers. I will only mark the eggs gained at the end of each section.**
Third Mission Egg Choices (1:20:15- 1:25:39)

The winner received a sea eel (meat) set which is good for overall health.
The loser (and the member chosen by the loser) had to make cheering sticks for the rest of the members.
Preview: The first of the Running Man Trips is coming! Jihyo is in charge and she’s throwing a curveball. She decides on a nature focused trip where the members give up their cell phones and get in touch with the beauty and wonder of the world.

BUT! Sechan has a transfer card from episode 640-641. He realized he had no hope of winning during the charades game and purposefully opted to lose so that he could use the card.
Sechan transfers his results to Seokjin! So, the winner also has to do the punishment.
Seokjin chooses Jaesuk to join him in the punishment.
…And Somin stays to help just because she likes arts and crafts.
