My Entertainment Score: 4 out 10 laughs
There was too much finance in this week’s game for me again, but some of the members as they settled into a desperate last place or a solid first place began spicing the show up with funny moments. And it ENDED! I can’t wait for next week and a more traditional race.
What Happened:
Theme: Running Man Investment Contest
**The way this episode is laid out doesn’t fit my usual review process, so this will look a little different than usual. I am also going to SUPER simplify the spoilers section for all of the stock trading results because to do it thoroughly would mean typing out huge lists of numbers and I don’t see that being entertaining for anyone.**
End of Second Trading Block (start of show- 4:51)
Last Year of Block 2 Trading Results (start- 4:27)
The last year of the trading block is revealed and the members react to their wins or losses.
Final Results (4:27- 4:51)
The numbers displayed only accounted for the amount they had in stocks. If any members had held onto the Running Money in cash, that would not be reflected. After watching through the trading section, none of this was a huge surprise, but it was nice to have a chart of the exact amount of good and bad fortune that the members had. By this point, it was clear most of the members had figured out the game.
Final 3-Year Trading Block (4:51- )
Mission For Information Points: Debate Battle Bonus Round(4:51- 12:03)
The members will be given a topic to debate. They will draw lots to decide which side they will argue. After a debate, the 30 staff members will hold up a sign saying which side they thought won, majority rules. The winning team members will each get 3 points.
The topic is “Is Face Reading Science?”
Yes Team: Somin, Haha, Jongkook, Kwangsoo
No Team: Jaesuk, Seokjin, Jihyo, Sechan
Mission For Information Points: Patience Prevails (12:03- 22:42)
Members will work in teams (chosen randomly through lots) to pass under a limbo bar. One member will need to carry the other while they are back to back. The limbo bar has paintbrushes loaded with paint hanging from it. The team will still pass if the paint gets on the carried member’s clothes or face as long as the member’s feet do not touch the ground and the limbo bar does not fall. First place will earn 7 points. Second place will earn 5 points. Third place will earn 3 points, and the last place team will earn only 1 point.
Teams: Jongkook and Haha, Seokjin and Somin, Jaesuk and Jihyo, Kwangsoo and Sechan.
Go ahead and imagine Sechan trying to carry Kwangsoo or the reverse but trying to get low…the unfortunateness of some of these pairings was super funny. And of course it's always funny to see people painted in these games.
Trading 2018-2020 (22:42- 52:20)
One of the members is so far ahead that he gives each of the other members $5,000!!
In this trading block, the members began teaming up to get as much information as possible for the points that they all had.
Final Results(52:20- 55:28)
The 1st place winner gets 40 kg! (roughly 88 pounds!) of rice. The 2nd place winner gets 20 kg! (roughly 44 pounds!) of rice. The loser has to carry those bags of rice to the winners’ cars. There were some surprises here!
Penalty (55:28- 56:44)
New Race: Seokjin’s Birthday Gold (56:44- end of episode)
Opening (56:44- 58:56)
The members (without Seokjin) gathered and noted the decorations for Seokjin’s birthday. They gabbed and teased and were in general high spirits.
Race Explanation (58:56- 1:03:06)
The PD explains that all the members are a part of Running Village and today will be all about Seokjin. Seokjin enters to much applause. They both tease and compliment him a great deal. Then they announce that all the members prepared gifts for Seokjin.
Giving and Opening of Gifts (1:03:07- end of show)
The members gave gifts that they clearly thought about and picked specifically for Seokjin, though several were more on the humorous side.
1:11:39-There was a funny little interlude here where Seokjin was asked to find a specific staff member that had been with Running Man for years.
The last present is given from “the Village Head” and contains a card that says he has hidden gold as Seokjin’s present.
Preview- Next week will be a race to find the hidden gold in Running Village. Jihyo almost never loses on games with gold as a prize. Will Seokjin be able to receive his birthday present from the Village Head safely?
!!!Spoilers!!!
