I enjoyed pretty much everything about this episode. I only wish they had picked on each other a little less. Thank goodness for Haha who knows how to break tension!
What Happened:
Theme:
Opening (start of episode- 8:35)
The members arrive to a board that asks what they think about the penalties on Running Man. They spend some time discussing the question.
Race Explanation (8:35- 10:55)
The members will be going against the staff to determine who gets to decide the penalty for each episode through the end of the year. Each game can earn them (or the staff) penalty balls. A random drawing will be done at the end of the day. The team who is drawn will get a water bomb and will lose the race.
First Mission: Blow Out Candles(10:55- 19:50)
Ten candles are placed in a row. In one breath, each member will have to blow out exactly 7 of the candles. Each success will give the staff a penalty ball.
Second Mission:Tail Catching Game (19:50- 23:46)
The members have 30 seconds to, as a chain where each person holds onto the person in front of them, go into 3 successive waiting rooms. They must all enter and the last person will close the door before they can exit again. The first person will lead the exit and entrance into each room. If they succeed on their first try, they will get no penalty balls. For each failed attempt, they will get 1 penalty ball.
Third Mission: Running Man Quiz Championship (23:46- 57:50)
They split the members up into 3 groups: the knowledgeable (Jaesuk, Seokjin, and Jongkook), the empty heads (Jihyo, Somin, and Sechan) , and the ace of the empty heads (Haha). The knowledgeable had 30 minutes to, one on one, help the empty heads study for an elementary level quiz. At the end of that, the empty heads were tested. For each answer that they ALL together got correct, the staff earned a penalty ball. If they were not correct, the Running Man team got a penalty ball. They had 3 “Ace Chances” where Haha could answer a question rather than the 3 members if they were uncertain or if he was certain about the subject.
Study Time (27:35- 33:35)
Quiz (33:35- 57:44)
Quote of the game: “Wow! Quizzes are fun when you know the answers!”
Lunch (57:50- 1:00:37)
Before going in to lunch, each member had to choose a picture of another member. The goal was to have no overlapping picks. For each duplicate pair the running man team would get 2 penalty balls. The staff would get a penalty ball for any non-overlapping choices.
Third Mission: Triathlon (1:00:37- 1:21:48)
The members compete directly against the staff in three sports: Table tennis, Badminton, and Foot Soccer. Each game is up to 7, but the points are cumulative. So beginning with table tennis, assuming the score is 7-4, in badminton, the leading team only needs 7 points to go to the third sport, while the losing team will need to get 10 points (to reach 14) to go to the 3rd sport. The losing team will get penalty balls equal to the spread in scores.
Table tennis and badminton required 2 players each and foot soccer required 4, so only one member of the running team played twice. Table tennis was played by Jongkook and Seokjin. Badminton was played by Sechan and Jaesuk. Foot soccer was played by Jihyo, Somin, Sechan, and Haha.
