Variety Review: 2Days, 1Night, Season 4- Episode 140 pt.2 - 143 pt. 1 Bring Your Own Friend trip
*2 Days, 1 Night is a show where 5 regular cast members take themed trips around Korea to show off its charms. Each trip has a theme designed to highlight an area or else to create cohesion for the games they play. The general formula for a trip is a lunch game, a dinner game, and a sleeping inside or outside game. Half of the members (in teams or as individuals) will win lunch. The same will be true of dinner and the right to sleep inside instead of in a tent. Trips often cover several episodes.*

My Entertainment Score: overall 8 out 10 laughs
Episode 140 pt. 2 was a 9 for me. Amazingly, although this episode was a game, it was also an excellent introduction to the guests for the trip.
Episode 141 was an 8 for me. This is going to sound like a weird complaint, but this episode had a lot of games. I think I would have liked a bit more interaction with the guests in a friendly chit-chat setting.
Episode 142 was a 9 for me. I love that with this cast, half the time the games are completely meaningless. They battle so hard and then share. Also…If you’re an Inwoo fan, there’s a segment you’ll either be appalled by or find incredibly adorable. I’m in the adorable and fun camp!
Episode 143 pt. 1 was a 6 for me. This was only 5 minutes or so, so there’s not a lot to love or hate.
What Happened:
Opening (18:47 of ep 140- 25:21)
The members arrive and announce the theme of the show as well as teasing the friends they will have joining them for this trip.
Find Your Friend-Opposing Goals Race (25:21- 1:00:23)
Each member is given a car and told to call their friend, pick them up and show up at the starting point as fast as possible in order to get a benefit. The friends…on the other hand…are told they will get a benefit if they are the LAST to pair to show up.

Trip Introduction (1:00:23- 1:03:17)
The members are going to Goesan this time. They are going to split into two teams. After each game, the winning team will get to send one of their members to the other team. The team with the fewest members at the end of the day wins. The team with the most members at the end of the day will dive into the beautiful river.

Team Shinji: Jongmin, Shinji, Seyoon, Sieon, Dindin, Seunghwan
Team Junghoon: Junghoon, Hansun, Inwoo, Dohun
Opening Game: Newspaper Game (1:03:17- 7:40 of ep 141)
**Note: every game will be chosen at random out of a toy capsule machine**
Each team is given one sheet of newspaper. They begin with it completely open and must all stand on it (no part of their feet can touch the ground outside) for 5 seconds to pass. Then the paper is folded in half and they try again. The team that can stand on the smallest square wins.

Lunch Game: Chicken Fight (7:40 of episode 141- 54:36)
We all know this game now right? Everyone playing must hold one ankle (in front of them), hopping on one foot, while trying to knock the other person over. For this episode, it was played 1 v 1 as a last man standing game. So, when one person was out, the winner would continue playing against the next competitor until one team ran out of new players.

Coffee Game - 30:40 Because there are guests, each team plays the 0 game against the PD to win coffee. They had to succeed in not matching the PD 5 times in order to win.
Winning Team Sends a Member - 32:45 The members also take some time to take pictures with the incredible scenery.

Cruise and Sightseeing - 38:24
Sand Lance Coffee Game (46:15- 1:01:45)
This was played 1 v 1 as a survival game. So the smaller team needed to have incredible luck to overcome their smaller number.

Last Game To Determine the Divers: Catch the Tail (1:01:45 of episode 141- start of episode 142)
This segment includes their dive and a short bit of travel to the base camp.
Dinner Game (start of episode 142- 28:55)
Two dinner tables are set up. Between the two of them, they have a complete Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) dinner. Teams are split up based on the order they sat down
Junghoon Team: Junghoon, Seyoon, Sieon, Inwoo, Dohun
Shinje Team: Shinji, Jongmin, Hansun, Dindin, Seunghwan
They play rounds of completing 4 letter idioms, and similar. For each complete round, they are able to steal a dish from the other team’s table.
Random Table Wasabi Game 14:43- A final game was played where a platter of food was set out…half was normal, half was full of wasabi. The teams took turns eating one piece. The team that got the most normal foods could pick the table that they wanted for dinner.

Sleeping Game (28:55- 55:30)
The members essentially play Karaoke Bingo. A board with preset songs is prepared (the songs are covered until the members choose that square to go for). They must sing the song and get at least 85 points to keep the square.
Teams were split up using the Koyote members as the captains.
Team Shinji: Seyoon, Junghoon, Hansun, Sieon
Team Jongmin: Seunghwan, Dindin, Inwoo, Dohun
……Boy did we ever get a new side of Inwoo in this game. I LOVE it!
Sleeping - 50:36
Morning Mission (55:30- 5: 50 of episode 143)
The members have to put on their mics, join up with their friend and start a 3 legged race to different tables where they can choose their breakfast items (one table for utensils, one for plates, one for meal tickets, etc.). There are of course weird items or duds at each table.
Breakfast - 1:06:20
Getting Off Work Mission - 1:11:20. The members were presented with peaches as dessert. The first person to eat a peach, and their friend, got the special prize of going to pick peaches! Haha. The rest of the members go on a scenic tour.

Preview: Gourmet Experience Trip-The Lonely Gourmet. The preview showed them in mudflats gathering octopus, at a salt farm (I so want to see one of these in real life), and playing brutal games…I think they’re going to decide being a gourmet is not what they want.

Team Junghoon wins! They send Hansun to the other team.
Junghoon team now has 3 members. Shinji team now has 7 members.
Lunch Game: Chicken Fight
Team Junghoon wins! They send BOTH Inwoo and Dohun to the other team with a random draw. The teams are now 9 vs 1 (Junghoon).
Sand Lance Coffee Game
Team Shinji Wins fairly easily. They send 3 people: Dindin, Inwoo, and Jongmin.
So…The Teams are Team Shinji with all the guests and Seyoon VS Junghoon, Jongmin, Dindin, and Inwoo.
Dohun lost his Wish Card, so the guests played extra rounds to get it. Seunghwan gets the Wish Card
Catch the Tail Game
Team Junghoon wins and sends two people: Inwoo and Jongmin.
This confirms that everyone EXCEPT Junghoon and Dindin have to dive in the water….but they all end up going in together. This cast is so sweet!
Dinner Game
Team Shinji wins…everything basically, including an extra round bet to try and even the tables…but they all share all the food because it's Chuseok and they are SOOOOOO sweet!
Sleeping Game - Bingo Karaoke
They blocked eachother off completely and ended with a high-score takes all round.
Team Jongmin won by a 2 point margin! They get to sleep indoors.
Junghoon finally uses his Wish Card in order to sleep indoors.
Jongmin offers to be the white knight for Shinji and is accepted….soooo
Jongmin, Seyoon, Sieon, and Hansun sleep outdoors.
