My Entertainment Score: out of 10 laughs

Episode 584 was an 8 for me. The games were entertaining and the cooking was done amidst a flurry of stealing and hiding, so it kept that segment from dragging too much.

Episode 585 pt 1 was a 5 for me. The one game was funny, but most of the rest of the race was cooking and the punishment.

What Happened:

Theme: End of Year, Special Party

Opening/Guest Introductions (start of episode- 11:40)

Member Performances (11:40- 17:29)

Several members perform for the ‘end of year’ party. They were clearly unprepared for this sudden special honor. Haha sang his new single.

Race Explanation (17:29- 20:30)

The members are divided into two teams of 5 for the entire day. The first team is Jaesuk, Seokjin, Haha, Somin, and Chunghwa. I’ll call this team Jaesuk. The second team is Jongkook, Dokwon, Sechan, Jihyo and Yongji. I’ll call this team Jongkook.

The first team to complete 3 (specified) egg dishes will win the race. They will learn what dishes to make by winning games. Winning games will also earn them each individual eggs.

The members of the winning team with the least individual eggs along with all the members of the losing team will be up for punishment. Three members will be chosen for punishment by a vote. Each member gets a vote, but they can earn more ballots by finding (or stealing) eggs to turn into the staff.

They play a game, which isn’t really shown, to determine which team will go to the location first and have time to hide their individual eggs.

Egg Hiding (20:30- 31:50)

First Mission: Crazy Acting Game (31:50- 57:37)

Each team takes turns playing the actor for 2 rounds. The acting team all goes into a room. Only 1 member will carry out an unpleasant task, then they all emerge and act as if it was them. The other team has to correctly guess who carried out the mission.

Round 1: Team Jaesuk- eating a super spicy chili pepper.

Round 2: Team Jongkook- doing elephant spins.

Round 3: Team Jaesuk- wearing an electric massager on their wrists at a high setting.

Round 4: Team Jongkook- Wearing an ice pack against their belly.

First Dish: Hamburger Steak (57:37- 1:02:11)

The dish uses 5 eggs. The team has to decide who will pay or else hunt eggs that others have hidden.

Second Mission: I like Penalties (1:02:11- end of ep 584)

They each wrote down a penalty that they personally think is funny. Then they drew randomly from those to see what they would have to say for the Strawberry Game. This got ridiculous very quickly. At the end of each round, any person on the losing team that lost a point has to receive the punishment they drew and played with.

Second Dish: Pancakes (start of 585- 0:28)

This dish uses 5 eggs as well. They will make this dish at the same time as the third dish.

Third Mission: Hide and Seek (0:28- 18:38)

Each team will send out 3 taggers (one for each round). In each round one tagger from each team will come out and the members will hide in the main room while one tagger wears a blindfold. After they are hidden, the unblindfolded tagger will carry the blindfolded one on their back to any location in the room that they choose. The blindfolded tagger will then have 1 minute to tag out as many people as they can. If they get more than 5 people out, they earn 3 points. Anyone that is not out will get a point for themselves. They will then switch who is blindfolded for the second part of the round. The 3 individual members with the most points at the end of 3 rounds will get 2 eggs each.

The staff came up with matches for the taggers. Haha vs Dokwon. Sechan vs. Chunghwa. Jongkook vs Jaesuk.

Third Dish: Deep Fried Eggs (18:38- 29:00)

This dish uses 3 eggs. The first team to finish the last two dishes wins the race.

Final Results (29:00- 36:13)

The four people on the winning team that managed to save the most eggs get lotion gift sets as a prize. The members are allowed to choose a punishment for the guests if one of them is voted into the bottom and vice versa. The members choose a wet tissue slap. The guests choose for the member that loses to have a cameraman follow them around ALL DAY on the day of the grand award ceremony for SBS.

Round 1: Haha gets 3 people out (Somin, Jaesuk, Jongkook). Everyone else gets a point.

Dokwon gets 1 person out (Jongkook). Everyone else gets a point.
