The Manelies- Our Favorite Kpop Christmas Songs

So this is a special category to the Manelies in honor of Christmas, we’re looking at the 10 best kpop Christmas songs, not this year, but of all time! This isn’t ranked in any particular order, and there is no winner, just a fun list to break up these intense reward articles.

Steven’s Picks

Loona- The Carol

The Carol is a great little Christmas song. Haseul’s voice really suits Christmas music in particular among the trio, and her quick little high notes are fairly impressive, plus, I miss Haseul. I also appreciate that it is an original, in a category where so many covers show up, partly due to their high quality.

Dreamcatcher Jiu & Yoohyeon- Angel 2 Me

I’m not sure if the lyrics are actually particularly Christmas related, but it has a Christmas tree in the background and came out in the season, so I’m counting it. I love the way Jiu and Yoohyeon’s voices blend together, they both bring a soft smoothness which is extremely pleasant to listen to, an extremely relaxing jam.

Celina’s Picks

SNSD TTS- Dear Santa

I linked the English version because it popped up for me first for some reason. When I think kpop Christmas songs, behind The Carol, this is the song I personally think of first. It is so supremely Christmas feeling, and upbeat, plus with the fantastic voices of TTS, you can’t go wrong with basically anything.

TVXQ & Super Junior- Show Me Your Love

These are the two groups that initially got Celina into kpop, so a collaboration between the two of them is already gold for her. This has a lot of big choral moments that really bring it together, very rarely is there only one voice going at once given all the people involved, which keeps it dynamic and interesting from start to finish.

Taeyeon- This Christmas

Speaking of the great voices in TTS, Taeyeon doing a full Christmas ballad on her own is, of course, an absolute treat. If you are more into the ballad paced style of Christmas song, this can be your go to, and you’ll be a happy camper. Honestly, Taeyeon doing anything where it really focuses on her voice is going to be great, and this is no exception.

Twice- Merry & Happy

This is the 3rd song I actually think of for kpop Christmas, so Celina got my 2 and 3. This song just has such a happy and charming youthful vibe, it really reminds you of the joys of Christmas as a kid without any pressure on your shoulders besides school. It really has that fantastic happy and nostalgic vibe.

Chelsea’s Picks

Mamamoo Moonbyul- A Miracle 3 Days Ago

Chelsea said she likes this largely due to the lower register than Moonbyul tends to live in, we all generally like a break from the super high singers at times for the charming lower voices of idols like Moonbyul. This is a relaxed and easy to listen to jam, with Byul just enjoying herself in the Christmas spirit, hard to go wrong with that from a top idol.

BtoB- The Winter’s Tale

This song is just a lot of fun, really happy and upbeat, something I think everybody could use this year in general, it’s been pretty dreary. That said, if you’ve never seen anybody pop off, a great example is the whole group in this dance, look at those hops, looks at those moves, not every man is capable of pulling off cheese to this degree while managing to not look uncool like BtoB does, I certainly couldn’t. Pop off Christmas BtoB, pop off.
