We are happy to announce the Manelies, the official ManelyKpop year end awards. I (Steven) worked with 2 other panelists, my wife (Celina), and sister (Chelsea), both of whom have written short introductions that are at the end of this article, in order to rank what we thought were the best songs, albums, individuals, and groups in every category that we thought was reasonable, and maybe a few fun ones too.
This page is going to be the hub world between articles, as articles get released, each will be linked here, as well as posted to the website’s home page. In terms of methodology of voting, I with some collaboration on categories, and more on others, came up with what I believe to be the best of the best in the following categories for 2020. We then all ranked the contestants in each category from highest to lowest and averaged all the placings to get final scores for each category, it seemed to be the fairest small-panel method I could come up with, so we rolled with it, I hope you enjoy and tune in every day to see what new ranking we have. We also each have 2 personal categories that we did, some of which may have write ups, these will be potential articles in the “Surprise” categories which will be revealed on the day of release.

Chelsea’s Intro
Hello everyone. My name is Chelsea and I’m the little big sister of Steven. I’ve been into kpop for a long long time. I got into it after my mom introduced me to Korean dramas, and I’ve never looked back. I still love the dramas but the music has also captured my heart. I have a dance and cheerleading background, so even when I don’t necessarily like a song, I always appreciate the performances and the work that goes into them. I’m thrilled to be able to contribute in some small way to this content and hope I can bring appreciation to the genre I’m so fond of.
Celina’s Intro
Hi! I’m Steven’s wife, Celina. I’ve been a fan of kpop for quite a while. I first started listening to kpop back in 2009. Back then, kpop was an entirely different world. It was hard to even find english subs for shows, and even when you could, there would always be a part of the show that was missing or wasn’t subbed. It’s been quite interesting to see the gradual world domination of kpop. It blows my mind that kpop albums are now sold in mainstream stores, like Target, because I couldn’t have ever even imagined that would happen. For the most part, I listen to only girl groups, but there are some boy groups I do keep an eye on. When it comes to making a decision about what groups to stan, I tend to gravitate towards groups that have more upbeat songs. I also tend to like groups that are full of funny and entertaining members, as they usually tend to win me over with their charms. I look forward to taking part in these awards, and I look forward to providing an older kpop fan perspective.
