Single Album Review: Woo!Ah!- Pit-A-Pat
This is a quick review for Woo!Ah!’s new single album Pit-A-Pat, shorter format, but I’ll also be writing up my concert review for Ateez’s tour for posting tomorrow, so it’s a double feature kind of a week. For the title track Rollercoaster, I’m just going to lump the video review right in with the song. Let’s get right into it.
Rollercoaster- This song is a lot of fun, a really cute little energy booster. It’s catchy without being repetitive, and has a really good pacing throughout, solid composition. I think the video does a ton of justice to the song too, the colors stand out despite basically all the shots being in a night time environment, and all the styling is great, which isn’t always true for this group. I also think there's a good balance here, letting all the members have their own moments to shine, which I can really appreciate, and that’s both in the song and the video.
Love Thing- This is a soft slow jam that definitely slows down from the energy and excitement of Rollercoaster, but feels like a nice complement rather than a complete disjoint. I think the vocals in general have been feeling improved every year for this group, and while there’s still room to improve, I think their gains are starting to show. This isn’t painfully slow either like some slow jams, which is welcome.
Rating: 7/10
I like higher volumes of content, and while these won’t be up for my song of the year, Rollercoaster will find itself in my top 50, maybe even top 30, which is pretty good since this year has been solid, and pretty competitive to me.
